Sometimes it's just the little things...

When I'm having  a bad day, even these things are tough:

1. Email

2. Meal planning and making food lists

3. Writing blog posts

4. Uploading pictures on Facebook or Flickr or Ravelry

5. Knitting

6. Getting ready- shower, drying my hair, makeup (On really bad days I sometimes have to take resting breaks in between or I don't even bother with doing my hair or makeup)

7. Long phone conversations or visits with friends

8. House stuff- making the bed, laundry, sweeping, doing the dishes, unloading the dishwasher. Luckily I have help with cleaning every other week!

9. Taking my dog out on short walks

10.Yoga stretches

And yes today is one of those days which is why my blog post is short! I was upset this morning when I saw my husband took my keys into work because that meant I couldn't drive our car. Who am I kiddin'? I can't go out today!

  1. Hi Amanda ~

I sure do relate! The CFIDS, but mostly some personal grieving, has got me in my pj's all day today... doin' nuttin'!

  2. Yes, a bad day can throw everything out of whack.

I gave up blow-drying my hair long ago, and as for housekeeping, making the bed and doing laundry are as much as I can get done. Good thing I have so many helpers!

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. :)

  3. Almost all of those things are hard for me every day, Amanda!

I know computer time wears me out, but it's my link to the outside world, especially when I can't go out.

I haven't blown-dry my hair since college (25 years or so!) and haven't worn make-up since I quit work in...let's see...2000 (before I got sick).

Sweeping and other housework is totally out of the question - too aerobic. Our cleaning service came in today for their every-two-weeks visit, we consider it a necessity now.

I can usually manage dishes, but I had to leave them in the sink for a while today. I'm having a rough week too.

Here's hoping we both perk up soon!

  4. On my really bad days I don't bother with my hairdryer or makeup. But most days I let my hair air dry for a bit and then finish it with a dryer.

Also, I live in a small apartment with a labrador retriever, so I do have to Swiffer once in a while. Luckily it's such a small space that it's not bad. I'm glad we don't have carpet, because I could not handle vacuuming!

Hope you're all feeling well today. I'm kinda feeling the same. I have access to my car but it's snowing here and I'm staying in. I have some knitting and tv to catch up on!
